Tane

Tane Ora: Standing as a strong pou for whanau

Reconnecting Tane with themselves, their identity, and their purpose.

The Mission: Guided by tika, pono, and aroha, the programmes blend cultural learning, practical skills, physical activity, and meaningful kōrero to support growth and healing. The Tāne Ora programmes deepen cultural identity and develop leadership qualities. Every Tāne has purpose, mana and the potential to stand as a strong pou for his whanau.

Mau rākau training

taiaha and patu teaches discipline, focus, self‑control, awareness, and respect, helping Tāne reconnect with the strength of their tūpuna and understand leadership through humility and service.

Toi Māori activities

such as whakairo, kōwhaiwhai, drawing, design, and storytelling—support reflection, identity building, and cultural connection, grounded in karakia, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori.

Group discussions

whakawhanaungatanga builds relationships, brotherhood, and confidence, encouraging Tāne to recognise their strengths and their role within whānau and community.
