Our Kaitiaki Whenua team at Te Whare Puna Ora is led by Lenny Huia, a retired Police officer whose decades of service have shaped him into a calm, confident, and highly skilled guardian of people and spaces. Lenny now leads our groundmen, a dedicated team who not only care for our whenua but also carry out our on‑site security responsibilities.
Together, Lenny and his team maintain and protect our expansive grounds with pride and precision. They ensure our environment is safe, welcoming, and well‑kept — from daily security checks and monitoring to the meticulous care of our gardens, pathways, and outdoor spaces. Their presence provides a sense of safety, stability, and wairua balance for everyone who enters Te Whare Puna Ora.
